Chapter 13

Yalen, with her backpack slung over her shoulder walked out onto the pavement with Briana in step beside her. She looked up and down the street and before she turned to head toward Camden High Street, she caught sight of the Prius and its two passengers.

“They must have slept in their car all night long,” she whispered to Briana.

“Our friends from the airport?” Briana asked, keeping her voice as low as Yalen’s.

“That would be the ones,” Yalen nodded. “We are going to walk up to Camden High Street and make a right. Once we get up there, we’ll be by all the shops, so we’ll take our time and pretend to browse as if we were just out for an afternoon of sightseeing and shopping.”

Briana shielded her eyes from the sun with her hand. “So we’re pretending to do the tourist thingy,” she said, looking at Yalen.

“You got it,” Yalen said as she led Briana across the street.”

“Do you think we’re being followed?” Briana asked, fighting the urge to look around.

“I have no doubt about that,” Yalen said, glancing at the blue Lexus parked beside the large green glass building on the corner of Jamestown and Arlington Road.
